Does hypnotherapy work?
The short answer, Yes. While hypnotherapy isn’t a magic wand or a cure all, hypnotherapy definitely has fantastic efficacy in a number of health areas and is supported by a growing body of evidence.
Can I be hypnotised?
Almost definitely. There is a small portion of the population who are not hypnotizable but for most people a hypnotic state is one that is regularly experienced, while watching a move, daydreaming or even driving a car.
Will I cluck like a chicken?
Many people develop their idea of hypnosis by watching movies or stage hypnotists designed for entertainment purposes and I do get asked quite a lot if I will make my client cluck like a chicken, rest assured, hypnotherapy is a legitimate therapy that hlds very few similarities to the stage variety.
What is hypnosis like?
Most people, particularly of driving age, have actually experienced being in a hypnotic state many times in their lives. If you think about a time when you have been driving your car and you arrive at your destination with no real memory of the drive. That’s because you were essentially driving in a hypnotic state.
Will I lose control of myself?
No. Hypnotherapy does not cause the person to fall asleep, lose consciousness or lose control of themselves.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions needed depends greatly o a number of factors including the individual and the size and configuration of their goals. In most instances however, change can be noticed afte the first session.
Is there scientific evidence?
Yes, there is a growing body of evidence to support the use of hypnotherapy as a conjunctive treatment in a wide range of health issues.
